48 Hours In Sin City!

About six weeks ago, my mom was saying how she never been to Las Vegas and wanted to go at least once in her lifetime. I had been to Vegas a few years back and really didn’t care for it much. I always said I would be okay if I never returned. Well, I ended up returning last weekend after all. I told my mom we could go for 48 hours and it would be long enough. She just wanted to go gamble a little and I just wanted to get away for a weekend (amongst other activities) , so it worked out.

We had made reservations to stay at The Cosmopolitan with a fountain view of The Bellagio. The room was absolutely beautiful on the 69th floor! It was so modern and stylish, but also felt inviting. Honestly, the view was more than breathtaking and worth every dollar. I would recommend this suite to anyone who’s willing to pay a little extra for this gorgeous room. You will not be disappointed! The Cosmo itself is an elegant place to stay and more modern than its competitors. I believe their target market is millennials, which is most ideal for me. My mom seemed to not mind as she called The Cosmopolitan “her favorite” on the strip. LOL

Our weekend was pretty laid back as we mainly stayed at the resort and ventured off to a few other casinos for my mom to test her luck. It was also over 100° during the day, making it unbearable to be outside for long periods of time, so we made frequent stops along the way.

Mom’s & I

For our last meal in Vegas, we had dinner reservations at Tao. I’ve heard about Tao through work and always saw ads for them in our magazines. I have to say, I was not let down! The food was phenomenal and I learned that I’m a fan of peanut sauce! I always try to expand my tastebuds and try new things when I can at nice restaurants. Tao has a broad menu with many items to choose from, so there’s something for everyone who enjoys Asian cuisine.

I love the fact that Tao is located inside The Venetian. In my personal opinion, I think this hotel is marvelous with all the hand painted frescos. It’s probably my second favorite after The Cosmo. My mom mentioned that this resort was “a little much” as they are trying to mimic a feel of Venice, Italy, but it was gorgeous nonetheless.

It was nice to go back to Vegas and experience it the right way by staying on the strip with my mom. I will definitely be okay if I never return again (for real this time LOL), but it was a nice weekend getaway from the Midwest! If you ever consider going to Vegas, consider staying at The Cosmopolitan. Good company and this view is all you really need.

    1. I just prefer other destinations that aren’t just about gambling, clubbing, or drinking the entire time. Vegas is gorgeous with all the lights, but honestly the city doesn’t have much to offer if you aren’t interested in the party scene. I feel that I’ve outgrown that stage in my life. Thank you for reading tho !

  3. Oh wow, the view from your hotel room looks incredible!
I’ve been to Las Vegas twice but both of those were years ago. Once for just a night while we were driving to California, and the second time was on a shopping day trip.
My Dad lives in Utah so it’s not far from here, although it’s a little further for me living in the UK!

    1. Ahhh!! One day in Vegas before heading to California would be ideal! That’s nice that you are somewhat close though if you wanted to make another trip in the future ! Although, I would advise going to California over Vegas lol! Thank you so much for reading !💕

  4. I’ve never been but would love to go once, just for the sheer experience of it. Your photos are fantastic and really give me the feel of what it must be like to be there, so totally over the top and glitzy but I love it! – thanks so much.
